Near Phoolbagan police station in Kolkata, a young man named Nitish Ravi Das was brutally murdered during the midnight hours. Allegedly, the altercation leading to the murder stemmed from a dispute over alcohol consumption, as claimed by the victim's family.

According to police sources, Nitish was asleep on the rooftop of a KMC quarter when a 30-year-old individual identified as Akash Hari approached him, throwing Nitish's water bottle to the ground. When Nitish requested water, a fued ensued, escalating into a physical scuffle.

During the altercation, Akash purportedly attacked Nitish with a sharp weapon, resulting in fatal injuries. Nitish was rushed to NRS Hospital in critical condition and was declared dead. The Phoolbagan police station is investigating the incident, probing potential motives behind the murder and examining the history between the victim and the accused.
